Technorati Tags: cheap dental plan, cheap prescription plan, cheap vision plan
Hi there,
ok SO, I really have my heart set on taking the social service worker program at this one particular college. I sent out my application but now I have to put together a portfolio which should include a 750 word essay (or personal statement) saying why I "wish to become a Social Service worker by referring to current and previous life experience, work and or volunteer experience, my personal characteristics, my knowledge of the Social Service field and my short and long term goals."
I did a co-op at Extendicare (long-term care for seniors) and worked in the Alzheimer’s unit a lot.. so I plan to incorporate that. A very close relative of mine was also in a women’s shelter type thing for abuse so I might include that… unless it’s better to focus on the one thing? I just need help with a good intro. Maybe some points I should include. Any tips would be great! I realllllllllllllllyyyyyyyy I want to get into this competitive course!
I was starting with something like this..
When I first arrived off the elevator of the fifth floor I began to look around. The senior residents were all in their own worlds. Some singing, some hollering back and forth and others just staring blankly across the room. Although they each had their own very distinct personalities they all had one thing in common—they were disabled and dependent on the Extendicare workers to keep them in tact.
Yes, I know that sounds really stupid but I just mean something along those lines. I’m not good at writing whatsoever and help is much needed! I plan on getting a teacher to revise it after wards, buut I need a good start off. Thanks in advance!!
Make an outline.
Start off like this.
Introduction—–Who you are
Paragraph 1—— Time spent at Extendicare
Paragraph 2—— Family Abusees/Abusers
Paragraph 3——- Why are you PERFECT for this position.
Closing——A restatement of your Introduction.
As for your little paragraph thingy…….please don’t do that I’ve helped grade too many papers where people were trying too hard to get anything across.
A better option would be to use your literature helpers, like action words, forgo the excess use of all, and although, and they had their.
It sounds so much better if you would say……….. Each had their own personality, but all were dependent upon us. The responsibility that piled upon me that day changed me for the better.
Go along those lines.
Good Luck and Good for you.
The House and Senate bills contain a half dozen or more new welfare entitlements or expansions to benefits in existing programs.[6] The pretense that these welfare expansions will lapse after two years is a political gimmick designed to hide their true cost from the taxpayer. If these welfare expansions are made permanent–as history indicates they will–the welfare cost of the stimulus will rise another $523 billion over 10 years.[7]
Once the hidden welfare spending in the bill is counted, the total 10-year cost of welfare increases will not be $264 billion but $787 billion. This new spending will amount to around $22,500 for every poor person in the U.S. The cost amounts, on average, to over $10,000 for each family paying income tax in the U.S.
The overall 10-year fiscal burden of the bill (added to the national debt) will not be $814 billion but $1.34 trillion. To this figure must be added the interest on the debt issues to finance this spending deluge.
Wow, that’s a net savings of……..adding another $950bn to the federal deficit over the next 10 years.
http://www.heritage.org/Research/Welfare/wm2287.cfm
Nice Savings!!
Not a fan of any welfare program…period. War on Iraq agree with you completely. Speculation, I doubt considering it’s all speculation about Medicare and Social Security at this point, right?
And you believe this? Seriously.? Where do you think they aare REALLY going to get this?
Welfare is supposed to stop after two years now…and you are only supposed to get it if you go to vocational school etc. THAT WAS A LIE AND A GIMMICK then and it is STILL NOT ENFORCED and it will be a lie and gimmick for this.
NOTHING the dems have said is the truth. NOTHING BOZO says is the truth.
HE turned this over to congress with no direction except public option and THEY are writing this bill. IT IS WRONG..misguided and not from any kind of leadership except PELOSI!
HE DOES NOTHING…so he doesn’t have to get the blame. WHEN DOES HE DO ANYTHING?
I am so sick of the manipulations of these democrats…I cannot wait until 2010….and then they WILL FINALLY UNDERSTAND what we are screaming about.
What about those poor fools who work two jobs etc and don’t make that limit! yet the poor will get almost 23,000 dollars a piece spent on them for merely sitting on their butts and screaming GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME!
This is insanity…and still there are not enough votes…but man I give our republican senators props for holding tight and working very hard for us.
The dems…watch out. America is NOT sitting for this. You an BELIEVE THAT!
i need 2 know care clothes fur health and everything
I second the recommendation for yorkietalk.com. It is a wonderful place for yorkie info! You will be welcomed there!
I recently read an article on MSN that health care after retirement is costing close to ~250k despite medicare and is growing at at brisk pace of 6-7.5% a year.
How do i plan for this in my retirement plan ? This kind of expenses will erode my retirement savings by a lot.
Keep working and saving.
The courts have ruled that you are on your own. Companies that offer health care in retirement are not required to do so and may drop the plans at any time.
Do we really need a supplemental policy and a drug program. I’m paying more for prescriptions on the bush drug program than someone without insurance. When I add up medicare supplemental and drug program I’m paying out over $7,000. a year, at this rate all my savings will soon be gone. Will I be able to go on welfare when that happens or should I just commit suicide which is cheaper?
Good luck and I’ll see you on the other side.
By setting aside pre-tax money from your pay into the healthcare reimbursement account, you may later repay yourself for eligible expenses incurred in calendar year that are not covered by insurance. Because your contributions are deducted from your pay before federal income, state income, and Social Security taxes have been withheld, you save on taxes.
Certain over-the-counter drugs and medicines may be reimbursable under your healthcare reimbursement account.
You can find all sorts of information about the account at
