Is Obama’s health care reform about reform or about gov’t control?
If it’s about reform why isn’t the administration talking about reform instead of gov’t takeover. Ie: tort reform, Health Care Savings accounts just to name a couple of things…
It’s about total govt. control!!!
It’s about total govt. control!!!

It’s not about health care, it’s about government control. That’s why they are so vague on what’s actually in the bill, they don’t care, they just want to get the camel’s nose under the tent.

Note to Victory: I have a HSA and I LOVE it. By giving ME the control over my family’s healthcare, I can make better deals. Also, the money I would have been spending in premiums I can now keep and use for my family’s health care! And I live in TEXAS. Your complaints have a hollow ring to me.

Because it is about government control!

The govt IS talking about reform. YOU are talking about takeover. But I guess that is because you don’t want to listen at town halls. You think that they are only for shouting.

To a socialist, reform is always about more government control. Those who want the governent to control everything think it will be a utopia. They’re always disappointed in the end, unless they’re holding the reins of power. But they keep believing it because either they’ve been given a false view of history or don’t know it at all.

It is purely a money and power grab. Obama wants to control EVERYTHING, and if he has the government buy into everything, then bankrupts the country with poor economic policy and an unsustainable health care plan, he is power grabbing his way to socialism.
mommanuk…that may be one of the most naive based answers of all…
1. We already have entities in every state that are there for the consumer in the event that an insurance company does not honor the contract. They are called insurance boards. They go to bat for consumers who ASK. This is an education issue. Few know about them.
2. If this passes, there will not even be quality health care in this country except for the super rich or politicians. This will drive the level of care for everyone else to the $hitty level of Canada, Britain, Germany, etc. NO THANKS!
3. You are either lying or naive about the Texas tort reform. Texas health care rates were fully 100% more on average than the rest of the country. Now they are in line with the rest of the country. Add opening the state lines for purposes of interstate insurance provisions, and you would see more competition…WITHOUT needing a "government option" aka government takeover.
4. While the American public agrees that there needs to be changes in our health care system, the majority of Americans want no part of Obamacare. And the number opposing it is growing every day.
5. Education and consumer based reform, coupled with tort reform, interstate policies, and incentives for medical savings accounts would do MUCH MORE than any government plan, and at a taxpayer cost of a fraction (around 1/1000 the cost of Obama’s power and money grab)
No, it’s all an attempt to force you to see a government doctor, sit in lines at a government hospital, and die at their request. Yep, that’s what the American public wants when they talk about health care reform. Or did you not know that most people want it?
Victory…
1. Only the most blind of the Obamabots do not see this as a government takeover. More people see this every day, and more people are fleeing Obama’s socialist agenda.
2. Health Savings Accounts are FABULOUS. You should try one. By paying the difference in premium from a high deductible insurance to a low one, I have paid myself rather than my insurance company to insure my small medical costs. I took my deductible from $1000 to $5000 and saved over $500/month. So I had enough for my deductible IN MY OWN SAVINGS ACCOUNT in 10 months. But so many people want the cadillac of health insurance that they are willing to pay 10 times the premium to insurance companies rather than pay for their own annual checkup. IT IS MADNESS!
3. 38 States do NOT have tort reform Where in the hell do you get that BS?
4. Half of my family lives in Texas. You are full of crap. Texas might have the highest rates in the nation for health insurance (a great reason to open the border)…but the margin is much less than it used to be. Texas used to be double the national average. Now they are around 6% above the national average. You want rates to go down? Depart all illegals and open up borders to interstate insurance.

I guess forcing insurance companies to live up to the bargains they make with their policyholders instead of catering to the shareholders isn’t reform. Nor is having everyone get access to the type of health care only available to the rich reform either. Feel free to pass tort reform. We did it in Texas 3 years ago and our health care costs have gone up 86% in that period. Nor is keeping all of us from having to pay three times what health care should cost because we pay when it gets to the emergency room instead reform.

Government control…Big, corrupt government.

Government control….the kind that we can never get out of once started. A weakened animal will never leave the pen, even with the gate left open.
Same with government…. the less free we are, the more that is done for us, the weaker we’ll become and the less willing we’ll be to fight for our rights and freedoms.
We’re truly at a turning point.

I thought making insurance companies insure people regardless of previous or chronic illness pretty reform.
I thought forbidding corporations to dump paying customers onto medicare as soon as they get sick and file a claim was reform.
I thought making huge statewide pools of insured instead of little ones so insurance risk would be spread and premium costs lowered was reform.
I mean it’s not like insurance company CEOs can’t make $multimillion bonuses on top of their $5,000,000.00 salaries. And obama’s not telling them they can only charge $100 a month with no deductibles and no co-pays and no exclusions.

first the banks then the auto industry now health-care how much "reform" can our country take before its under marxist control. check out the people obama has surrounded his self with and see if their vision of America matches yours

Only the GOP can see a Public Option as a government takeover.
Health Savings Accounts – HSAs were established as part of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act which was signed into law by President George W. Bush on December 8, 2003. They were developed to replace the Medical Savings Account system. How’s that working for you.
Tort Reform -38 States have Tort Reform. States Rights remember.
Texas is one of them. Here in Texas 1 in 4 Texans are uninsured, we also boast the highest per capita healtcare costs in the USA.

No. There’s no talk of govt take over. Adding an additional option to the insurance pool isn’t a "take over".

Gov’t control… since there is no Tort Reform in there. I mean, what are the indirect costs associated with medical malpractice? He wants you to only pay attention to the small percentage "supposedly" it costs healthcare. And, I am sure after he is out of office he will try to sell you a bridge in Brooklyn too!!

Reform. Health care reform is needed because the spiraling costs are dragging down our economy and making it difficult for big and small businesses to offer health insurance to their (working) employees. It is cutting into their profits. Meanwhile health ins. companies are making record profits.
Health care reform is needed because of the 17,000 families that are going into bankruptcy EACH WEEK, the vast majority of them WERE insured but when a catastrophic illness occurred, their insurer either dropped them or refused to pay for many of the needed treatments.
Health care reform is needed because we cannot get our economy back on a strong footing until the health insurance companies get some competition that forces them to cut their excessive profits and their multi-million dollar executive bonuses and actually insure people who have pre-existing conditions and who have the nerve to get sick. Competition is good, right?
And health care reform is needed because all of us who have insurance now are paying for those who don’t, and they are getting the most expensive form of health care at the emergency room. With a public option, costs will go down because there will be group bargaining power.
