Did anyone watch Four Corners program on the Aged Care Crisis in Australia? Comments please.?
This show was simply the tip of the iceberg with Queensland as well having many Aged Care facilities involved in abusing the elderly.
They are treated worse then Criminals, the Elderly!

These Baby Boomers would have parents. Obviously some of them the half-decent ones would at least show some care. If you could, could you elaborate more on what goes in USA with Aged Care?
I did not see it ,but I suspect abuse happens just about everywhere. It sickens me. I think anyone who abuses another living being ought to have the death penalty. This includes abuse to children or adults, as well as animals.
We have had more than our share of elderly abuse in the USA. Presently there are many laws on the books to prevent such things and there are inspection agencies that survey nursing homes, but the problems persist. The people who are involved with caring for the elderly need to be extremely diligent to observe and get rid of the cruel, sadistic people tho are drawn to situations where the people are so vulnerable.
its not going to get better anytime soon..here in the u.s. they are always turning down new buildings and facilities for aging, the baby boomers are here an on one gives a damn.

Sorry could not get that here by cable. There was mentioned that here in the U.S. that they have started something called a Green House home where elders as they are called live in a residence that looks like home and not a facility. They offer meals, support, and nursing care and each person has his/her own room and bath with a sunny living area. They can even put their two cents in about meal preparation and have access to a garden and patio. This is a new model test being done to try and change the way the U.S. cares for its oldest citizens. So we are trying to change things.
